I have tried my hand at a new Melanochromis species, the johannii.

It was supposed to be less aggressive than the maingano, but the first thing that happened when I put them in the tank was that one of them got beaten up as much as it could take. It has now had time to recover and has returned to the others, and there are apparently no more problems.

I am quite convinced, however, that there will be, as I believe there are three males and only one female, but I hope the aggression will play out between the three males, so the female can get some peace once in a while.

Hmm.......
