Valisneria spiralis is a very hardy and fastgrowing aquatic plant, and at the same time it is also extremely easy to keep in the tank.
Appearance
It has long thin leaves that resembles thick grass. It has nice light green color and when the plant is in growth, it will produce runners and become a long string of plants in various sizes.
Care
It can easily fill an entire tank if it is left alone long enough so you have to regularly thin out some plants to avoid that it spreads too much. If it becomes too tall you can cut it, like grass to keep it from shading off all lights in the tank.
Propagation
It is propagated by runners when the plants are established and in growth. When the offshoot has reached a good size, you can cut it from the mother plant and it will begin to grow on it's own. It will take usually 4-6 weeks before it is growing after the separation.
It is highly recommended for new tank setups due to the fast growth and easy care.
