Once more I bought a species without really thinking it over. F. rostratus is a large fish and becomes really big, especially if you consider that it likes to move in schools as juvenile. It is probably more than my 325 liter tank has room for, but I hope it will suffice for a while.
When I bought them in March 2003, they were only about 4 cm, and in May 2004 the biggest one was still only about 15-16 cm.
First I sold 4 of the original 8 I initially bought, to my father in law who had them in his 720 liter tank. It was mostly to make more space for the remaining 4, but I also had to sell them as they grew far to big to keep in a 325 liter tank. I guess that's what you get for buying fish from impulses.
